Thanksgiving for a child at St Elisabeth's

The birth or adoption of a child is a cause for celebration. People want to say thanks to God for the creation of a new life. There are many reasons why somebody may choose a Thanksgiving. The child is still free to choose to be baptised later in life.

What is a Thanksgiving?

A thanksgiving is a special church service which is different from a Baptism. People my choose 'supporters,' but you do not have Godparents. Also you do not make the Baptismal promises, as in a Baptism.

A thanksgiving service gives you the opportunity to give thanks and to pray for family life.

The Service takes place after the 10.30am Parish Eucharist and it is normally at 12.30pm.
